Grant Recipient Malcolm French awarded OAM

The Bjarne K Dahl Trust offers our congratulations to grant recipient Malcolm French for his recent Order of Australia Medal.  Malcolm received funding in 2011 through our Small Grants Program to support the publishing of his book “Eucalypts of Western Australia’s Wheatbelt”.  Malcolm was recognised for his service to conservation and the environment in Western Australia.

Inaugural Bjarne K Dahl Medal awarded

The inaugural Bjarne K Dahl Medal was awarded to Dr Dean Nicolle from Currency Creek Arboretum (http://www.dn.com.au/) who has provided outstanding contribution to Eucalypt conservation and education. The Bjarne K Dahl Trust would like to thank the Secretary of the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning Mr Adam Fennessy for presenting the medal to Dr Nicolle.

Order of Australia Medal

We are exceptionally proud to announce that on Australia Day 2015, Alison Teese, Chairman of the Bjarne  K Dahl Trust, was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for service to conservation and the environment in Victoria.  Alison has a long history of involvement in conservation and agriculture initiatives, including being one of the founding members of the Moolort Landcare Group and serving on the boards of numerous organisations.  She has chaired the Bjarne K Dahl Trust since its inception in 2009 and in that time has overseen the distribution of over $875,000.00 grants towards eucalypt conservation projects.
